Katie represents clients in litigation matters including business and civil litigation, family law and juvenile law matters, environmental law, commercial disputes, and construction law. Katie also represents clients in the environmental law and renewable energy areas.
Katie is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent Office and routinely assists clients with intellectual property matters including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Born in Evansville, Indiana, Katie earned a B.S. in Biology, cum laude, from the University of Southern Indiana in 2004, where she sang in the USI Chamber Choir and served as Secretary of the USI Chapter of Sigma Zeta, the National Honor Society for Math and Science. Katie then received her law degree, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, in 2007. Katie received Certificates of Merit in Research and Writing, Advanced Writing, and Emerging Issues in Elder Law. She also received numerous scholarships throughout her undergraduate and law school matriculation, including the USI Biology Department Scholarship, B/MD Scholarship, and Honors Scholarship at Thomas Cooley.
Katie was named an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by the Indiana Lawyer in its 2011 edition of Leadership in Law Awards for her excellence both inside and outside the firm. Katie has served as a student advisor for the Law Day Mock Trials, as the co-chair of the 2010 Law Day Student Lunch, and as the co-chair of the 2011 Law Day Dinner. Katie also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Ivy Tech University's Evansville Campus.
